Chief Runner’s Top Ski Spots

In the winter, skiing is my favorite exercise and I have been on some pretty incredible mountains but these are my favorite places to point them down. Maybe I’ll see you on the slopes

  • The back bowls of Vail "Sunup" and "Sundown" can't be beat for beauty, challenge and great snow if you get there early.

  • Snowmass during the week when the crowds don't exist is like having a mountain to yourself.  Endless terrain and some good tree skiing.

  • The far left side of Deer Valley - the "Bald Mountain" area is challenging, bumpy and steep.  And the lifts are always empty  as a result.

  • All Over ALTA - The "skiers" mountain.  Best skiers I see on any mountain and for good reason - lots of black and double black diamonds!
